How Our Program Works

The QFM Program delivers all the tools and resources its users need to master the essential skills for long-term career success.

Why It's Important

Employees who know how to develop their skills feel much more in control of their careers.
Employees who are in control of their careers are increasingly hopeful about their futures.
Employees who are hopeful remain committed to their career development activities.
Employees who are motivated regularly achieve career development objectives faster, which in turn inspires a repeat of the Control/Hope cycle all over again!

Blueprint

CATEGORIES

The program is organized into 5 distinct categories.

RESOURCES

Each skill category is supported by automated learning templates and reference materials that scale to match any expertise level.

FORMAT & CONTENT

The format and content of all resources are the same: associate everyday activities with questions to ask when they happen, followed by actions to take in response.

CHOICES

Our system can be used à la carte (one category at a time) or in its entirety.

PRACTICE

Our program is designed for and assumes regular employee practice. Our philosophy is that continuous professional development is a fundamental requirement for long-term career success.

About Tom Berutti

Early in his career, Tom set out to understand the qualities shared by the successful people around him. Over time, he noticed one trait they all had in common: when faced with a situation, they began by asking questions rather than reacting.

As a result, Tom adopted this “questions-first” approach to managing himself and later the people he supported. Ultimately, it became the guiding principle that he believes contributed more than anything to his and their success.

Tom’s 40-year career includes initial experience at a Big 4 firm, assistant controller roles at a regional, privately held company, and executive leadership as Director of Internal Audit and then Vice President of Finance for a multinational corporation. Since 2015, Tom and his wife have co-owned a small business, which has grown to 3 locations in the metropolitan area where they live.
